NEED HELP ASAP with mouth wire

Basically i had braces (no extraction) as a child now Ive has this wire thing for my front teeth for 2/3 years so my teeth stay straight and dont go back to how they are. Im 17 rn is this wire which purely covers my front teeth ruining my facial development? Should i have it removed?

If it's prevented your face from developing properly, it's already over. You're 17, there is no recovering from this without surgery, you're simply too old. I got braces 8 months ago and I'm now 17 with irreparable damage to my lower jaw's development.
