NEED HELP DECIDING PROVIDER

I’m 21M trying to decide between a few orthodontists for skeletal expansion and airway issues. I have some pre-existing facial asymmetry (one cheekbone/eye sits lower), a narrow palate (35mm IMW), recessed upper jaw, tongue sitting low/back in the throat, and a narrow airway. My teeth are straight but I have a posterior open bite.


I'm stuck between 3 providers:


1. Airway Ortho (2 hours away)
– Has done “dozens” of adult expansion cases
– Said my current braces flared my teeth and need uprighting first before MARPE
– Recommends custom MARPE + facemask
– Thinks angled MARPE placement can help my asymmetry
– Cost: $7–8k


2. Dr. Newaz (2 hours away, but pricey)
– Known for FME
– Would probably be 3x the cost
– Not sure if FME would be better for asymmetry + recession in my case
– 25-30k


3. Dr. Koval (4 hours away/would have to fly)
– Known for treating asymmetries
– Also likely $15–20k
– Travel distance is tough


I’m basically stuck deciding between:
• Cheaper → custom MARPE + facemask
• Expensive → FME (Asymmetry "specialist")
• Very Expensive → FME (#1 provider of expansion)

Can a nigga evaluate and let me know what would be best in my situation? Given the drive, cost, aesthetics, etc...

From what ive heard fme seems better i dont think the cost should be an issue i would have my parents pay yeah im in fl

Im very new to researching this

From my research its case by case but generally FME is better. Peoples main fear with custom marpe is the potential dental tipping. I don't think you can do facemask with FME either, until facegenics releases their facemask.

whats ur situation

are super narrow? is ur palate high vaulted? do u have a longer midface? asymmetries? recessed?
