am i compressing my spine in my sleep somehow? or wtf is going on, I'm 16 and 5,10 ig? dad is 6,1 so I'm hoping i can still grow

ive been sleeping on my back idk if its working

actually its def not working cause its still going on
Just your spine being weird, nothing you can really do. Maybe posture?

i end up a bit shorter when i do an exercise like standing calf raise with those shoulder pads that push me down its prob just me tho

Your waking hours vs sleeping hours vary a lot possibly. Are you going to sleep and waking up at the same times?

Another thing could be that you move a lot while you sleep, ending you up in some weird messy ahh skiddilidabadoo position. Idk if there is a way to fix that but you should know if you do it first. U can download an app for that.

Lastly I would say you are compressing your spine in the mornings some days and some days you dont. Like maybe on monday you carry a small bag to school thus not compressed and on friday you bring in every single book you have thus compressing you hard. Same with shoes.

thank you for the highiq response

i think i may move a lot in my sleep, if I am able to control it what position do you recommend so I ensure I am my tallest in the morning?

I did not know bags compressed my spine, I think that could be a factor I will definitely look into it, because I do be carrying a lot of books sometimes, and sometimes not.

What do you mean about the shoes? how could shoes compress me?

I also have mild scoliosis but I do not think this plays a factor.

i meant you were using different shoes each day giving you different height boost

Best position is either on back or side. Both have their pros and cons (laid on back is good with spine but it pushed tongue backwards, causing recession/ on side is good but you can push your mandible to the side if leaning forwards) I remember there being a theead in here talking about vest sleep position for mewing/jaw development or sum which basically pointed out that best sleeping position is no pillow, on side like most primates with arm bent and supporting head not touching jaw and some indians do it for quality sleep.

If you have slight scoliosis you should 100% stretch for minimal height gains, but also a healthier spine (more flexible and the discs in your vertebrae actually get water between them not fucking you up for when you become old)

Go look for the thread if u can

any recommendations on stretches that will give immediate or long-term results for height gain with my spine?

I would sleep on my side but I heard it causes, a-symmetry so should I just sleep on my back?

Also when to do these stretches ^^

also "Your waking hours vs sleeping hours vary a lot possibly. Are you going to sleep and waking up at the same times?" I think not, as I usually sleep between 12-1, and wake up at 7-7:40"

How would that possibly effect height though?

have you never heard of spine decompression? you lose an inch roughly through the day and then when you sleep you get it back and slowly lose it when you walk around . if you sleep less then you won’t get that full inch or so

how does nobody on this site no ts?

Yes but that would be consistent

Depends on which part of your spine is compressed. Like dudes who carry a lot of stuff have their lower back pressed down because the weight, while others can just be lazy mfs and have the worst posture humanly possible 24/7 and have their upper back and neck giga compressed. Try and find which half of ur spine is getting compressed

If when you sleep you lean to the side a lot and your face goes fully in contact with the pillow then yeah, cause you are pushing your jaw with that force downwards to the side causing something called crossbite in teeth and jaw swing. You can still sleep on side if you learn the primate technique with no pillow and arm as support that I was talking about and not cause asssymetry

The ammount you sleep = the time your spine has to decompress

Your body also has a spike of hgh at 9pm which is the perfect time to sleep, but if you have stuff to do its ok with having more quality sleep than quantity, since if you keep waking up in the middle of the night or sum its stealing time for rem sleep and thus spinal decompression and other important things your body needs

What if I ensure I do not turn and sleep flat on my back for the full night. If I do that, my face would not be making contact with the pillow and therefore not cause a cross bite. Or is that not a option and just flat on my back will affect my jaw still.

Ohhhh I do wake up a lot in the middle of the night to piss, do you think that could be what’s compressing me?

Back is better since no assymetry. You can tie a golf ball or something to your stomatch to prevent you from leaning that much.

Any kind of sleep affects jaw one way or another, but back is the best unless someone knows how to sleep on the side without affecting jaw. I assume it is also impossible since gravity can also pull skin and bones to the side so back mogs yeah.
