It’s more like micro-perforations the skin is not injured it’s a temporary wound, it stings for 30mins after I wake up the skin looks normal and doesn’t hurt at all.

all you have to do to counteract this is apply moisturizer? just because it dries out your skin doesnt make it suck, especially given that your other option is castor oil that ONCE AGAIN does nothing and is only supported by anecdotes from other people
