I'm 15, I'm not satisfied at all with my orthodontist's treatment. I currently have a crossbite and an overjet, or as he called it an 'overbite.' He is using class 2 elastics on me, and I deadass feel like hes recessing my maxilla more, so I simply stopped using the bands. See photos of my side profile:

Trying to come up with some sort of reasoning or bullshit I can tell the ortho to fix my very flat side profile. I have the same facial structure as my father, and he has sleep apnea. I snore at night too, and never is quite well rested, im planning to get a sleep test for sleep apnea soon, I have a large tongue, same as my father. My palate might be narrow aswell because when I push my tounge to the top , part of my tongue goes over my teeth, though it could not be because I just have a large tongue, ill include a photo of that aswell(the palate):

, seriously considering surgery if need be. Any ideas of what to tell my ortho without him shutting me down immediately?

TLDR: Have crossbite, overjet, overbite, possibly sleep apnea, what to tell ortho to improve maxilla

My ortho also gave me class II elastics for my overjet (4.8mm) and I feel like since I've started using them my tongue now touches the back of my top front teeth or i'll occasionally bite the tip of my tongue now. I don't know if its just seasonal changes but since I've started wearing them I feel slight difficulties breathing through my nose (like sound like I have a stuffy nose which may be true but I haven't had one in a long time, and it just so happens that I get one after using my elastics so it may or may not be related to them).

Before I started wearing them I had no problems fitting my tongue onto the roof of my mouth and I would never really accidentally bite it or feel my tongue touching the back of my teeth. (If you want you can read the rest of what I said on coconut24's post)

My palate/tongue issues are very similar to what you're describing yours as, and when I told my ortho I said that I felt like I could no longer fit my tongue on my palate like I normally could, he didn't really give a shit. If I were you I'd probably wait for the sleep test results, and if you have sleep apnea try to use the results for that reason, and if not tell him about the issues you've been experiencing.
If he just shuts you down I would try to get a consultation with an airway-focused orthodontist to see what treatment they think is best for your situation.

Before I did my orthodontic treatment I had the same problems as you, tongue would press up against my top teeth, and it was more difficult to breathe through my nose. I got a palette expander and it solved my issues. I think you'd benefit from one especially if you have sleep apnea

How would I ask them for one? I’m already halfway thru my current treatment.
