Basically everybody is in a pit where you can only eat food from a lift that descends down. Once a day a lift brings food but there are 333 floors. After floor 100 it is estimated is about when the food runs out. After every month you are randomly teleported to a new floor.
Even though a new set of food comes once a day. For those on say floor 160 all of the food will still be eaten even though they did not need to eat that much at all. Many starve or commit suicide or even worse, cannibalism.
This is supposed to represent capitalism but also modern western society for a Male imo. You probably work tirelessly for a low wage even though people above were lucky to be born into making 10 times as much for less work. You might not be ugly or even average looking but your looks match or worse is greedy for the best Male she can get
