Was making my way somewhere the other day using the bus (using the bus is very normal here in the UK, especially in the city I live).

End up getting stuck in the most brutal traffic, bus goes nowhere in like 15 mins. No worries for me as my errands weren't time sensitive so its whatever.

Woman starts whining that she's in a hurry, begs driver to open the doors, but he tells her to pipe down and that he can't because it isn't a bus stop and he could lose his license.

Buses here usually have a emergency "open door" button above the doors. Woman taps me on the shoulder and says "excuse me, could you press the open door button, I can't reach".

I think she thought I would reflexively just press it for her. Instead I turn around and say "No, the driver will kick me off if I press it." (my other concern was her walking out into traffic and me catching a lawsuit).

She immediately goes into a tirade "WHAT? WHY WOULD HE KICK YOU OFF?"

"Because it's not an emergency is it."

"JUST PRESS IT."

"..."

"CAN YOU JUST PRESS IT"

"Yeah, I'm not getting kicked off the bus for you, if you want to press it, do it yourself."

She keeps whining but I've already turned back around and don't give a fuck.

"CAN SOMEONE PRESS IT PLEASE?"

"OMG WHY CAN'T YOU JUST PRESS IT."


Stupid woman thinks i'm going to jeopardize my own journey for her dumb ass. The shock at my refusal was gold.

Even funnier considering I'm only 5'7 myself.


I don't care how petty the situation is. Never help a woman that isn't family, a friend, someone you aren't with or fucking.

The best part was I inadvertently made no one else help her as well. If I just said no, some NPC normie might have helped. But I pointed out that being thrown off the bus was a risk and so nobody else stepped in.
