I had an experience today over email that made me realize this.
At first I was kind and cordial with the person, seeking sympathy, and the outcome wasn't in my favor. I immediately switched my tone to a more aggressive one, I started harshly critiquing their response and pointing out inconsistencies. They immediately switched from not helping me at all to giving me more than what I demanded.
Never act like a cuck/nice. People will never do what you want, they see a kind person as someone to exploit. I can't believe it took 2 decades of life for me to realize this.
