not saying it is the right way, but this is the way I did it:

Start in the most smart and boring way. The 'I am saving up for old-age' type investing.
Find a good broker with low fees, start with ETFs first, read up about how taxes affect your gains, read about how investing works, what affects stock price-changes.
Eventually start reading into a few particular companies or other assets you are interested in. Start doing 'due dilligence' into these companies and eventually buy a couple shares in company you think have potential to beat broad markets in the long run.

Now you have a solid base of knowledge and idea of how stock-prices can fluctuate and you can start upping the risk if you feel safe to do so.

But this is where I stop as I can not seriously recommend gambling to people I don't know, their mental state, financial situation, etc.

My opening post wasn't serious, it was only real.
