New York, June 8 (ANI): An Indian man from New York who had a nose job five years ago, now no longer has one. After a divorce in 2006, Vishal Thakkar decided to undergo rhinoplasty, which he now considers a vain decision.

Now he wears a medical mask over the gaping hole in his face, through which he breathes with a tiny straw, the New York Daily News reported. He had breathing troubles after the first surgery disrupted his exercise and sleep so he went back again and again. He had eight surgeries between 2006 and 2007 with Dr. Angelo Cuzalina while living in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

There was nothing wrong with Thakkar s face before the surgeries. Then he left Tulsa but had to return for additional surgeries in 2011. Finally Cuzalina, the president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, hacked off Thakkar s nose while the patient was unconscious, according to Fox 23.

Thakkar said the surgeon told him there was an infection in there and since he was on the operating table and unconscious he had to make the decision. Literally adding insult to injury, Cuzalina sent Thakkar a letter saying that he would not work with him any longer.​

The statement describes Thakkar as medically unstable and claims Thakkar has repeatedly threatened and harassed him, his staff and practice. Thakkar claims he was prescribed enough medication to kill someone - including Loratab, Ambien, Valilum and Oxycodone - and to have had so many injections that his liver is pretty much fried. He has now filed a lawsuit stating that Cuzalina recorded audio and video of Thakkar without his knowledge.
