Another possibility would be receiving robotic legs after leg amputation. Obviously, this procedure is not permitted at present (in aesthetic matters), but technically they could make someone taller as well, depending on the dynamics and biomechanics of the remaining body.

It is a good idea (obviously I see that you are being sarcastic), because with such legs you would not only be taller, but your gait would not be a significant problem in old age either, and you would not need to take PTHrP analogs for osteoporosis, which would only increase your risk of a heart attack

Basically, in limb lengthening surgery your leg is intentionally broken, and in osteotomies as well, then it is fixed with implants and screws how would this be different?
