New Breakthrough to Strengthen Bone Could Reverse Osteoporosis : ScienceAlert
https://share.google/IXMHFtrsusxV55oKZ

the substance, AP503, is used to strengthen bones and give it more mass, to cure osteoporosis.

many pharmaceuticals, like teriparatide, abaloparatide, and a few peptides, are also used originally for osteoporosis patients.

The mechanosensitive adhesion G protein-coupled receptor 133 (GPR133/ADGRD1) enhances bone formation - PubMed
https://share.google/D4T4ANbKtAxkjgaKD

"Activation of GPR133/ADGRD1 with the receptor-specific ligand AP-970/43482503 (AP503) enhances osteoblast function and differentiation"

Scientists may have found a way to strengthen bones for life | ScienceDaily https://share.google/GrSlEZoihg0VaVwA6

"By stimulating this receptor with a new compound called AP503, they were able to boost bone strength in mice, even reversing osteoporosis-like conditions."

Activating GPR133 can help prevent bone loss and even reverse it, mimicking the effects of mechanical exercise on healthy bones

this very recently found compound haven't got many researches for it, so this is not for sale for now :feelskek:

From what I read it’s more so about bone density rather than actual size of the bones. We’ll have to see where it goes tbh.

I never stated it was for the actual size, as I only mention bone mass or density (though i hope in future researches for it to be able to actually incrase size). actually pretty similar to pth analogs

more dense = the bigger the size = wolf law

If I have a glass filled with water, and I change that water for mercury (which is denser than water) will the glass also expand? No, because that’s not how it works.

Also Wolfs law states that when a bone suffers micro fractures, it will become stronger in that area.

The bone on the left is denser than the one on the right, yet it’s size stays the same.

DR. seems promising, guess we just gotta wait for more info though since it isnt specific about size but only about density.

I read this ScienceAlert article too and was about to post about it, but you get there before me.

It's definitely promising, and people here are glossing over some key findings.

First, it actually increases osteoblast activity, which is what we want for bigger bones.

Secondly it goes into the most potent hormone that they saw for building strong, thick bones, which was something novel they discovered and called it maternal brain hormone, that also increased mass.

The bone on the left is denser than the one on the right, yet it’s size stays the same.

The outside casing (periosteum) can grow appositionally and increase in thickness and mass, not by much, but when paired with an anabolic steroid, you can expect cortical thickness of anything between a 0.1-0.5mm increase, which reflects in a slight outward diameter increase.

But before and during puberty, the periosteum is much more fibrous and compliant, and new lamellae are laid beneath it, so there is no limit.
