What made you choose teaching? I'd personally won't simply because seeing normie kids grow up and mature in life further and be more successful than I ever could would just make me depressed

I actually wanted to become a male nurse at first. However, my OCD cucked me. Back in high school, two English teachers both told me I should become an English teacher as well. I said no way! But I’ve always liked the classroom environment. I’d watch shows and I still watch movies where high schools play a central theme. Back then, I used to watch it for the student POV, but now I watch it for the teacher POV.

Also, I see your reasoning and yeah, hopefully all those students will become more successful than I ever could be but it wouldn’t make me depressed, I’d actually feel honored that I got to teach those students. I am not an envious person in general, so that helps.

I picked English because I’m good at it. Plus if I ever want a teaching abroad gig, I couldn’t do that just by teaching Dutch, you know? I think I could become a Dutch language teacher as well, but nah.

Yeah, you can’t be anti-social and a teacher. I mean, you sort of can, but it would be very draining emotionally. You need to be able to socialize. After having been a NEET for so long, it’s definitely gone rusty to some degree for me.

And brootal, yeah teachers tend to put students on the spot. I don’t do that, I always ask for volunteers.

Haha students are usually scared to answer when they think the answer could be wrong. But luckily, in the classes I’ve taught so far, there’s always a bunch of students willing to volunteer.
