New users still think palate expansion is easily accesible and an easy ascension.

First off, most of you won't even be eligible for a palate expander. You're not a low-inhib God like that lookism autist who installed his own by himself. Orthodontists won't care for your "I have trouble breathing properly" story, because it's not even true. They won't care about your bullshit sob story. Otherwise they would recognize the problem through various evaluations and measurements. If your teeth and bite are decent then you won't get a palate expander because of your lie, it's that simple.

You're not a ten year old child, you're a late teenager or an adult whose midpalatal suture has probably already fused. You would need a surgically-assisted expander or a miniscrew-assisted expander. You're putting a dent in your wallet for a very slight change in your midface.

Obviously the real goal is to improve your smile or to correct an improper bite. Stop thinking it's going to do anything insane for your looks.

Glad I have a good palate
I used to have incel-tier teeth and a shit palate. I went to the orthodontist, they recognized my problems and they installed a miniscrew-assisted palate expander along with braces on my lower teeth.

My orthodontist removed part of the palate expander a couple of months ago and the rest a month ago. Now I also have braces on my upper teeth. I'm glad for everything.

How'd the progress go? Did you see any results and how fast?

I regret not taking regular pictures of myself, I would have showed them to you if I did.

My orthodontist installed the expander in april of 2025. If I remember correctly I had to turn the key/active the expander twice a day for two weeks. You get the diastema very quickly. It's a painful process because of how much force the expander exerts. Besides the pain it's a nightmare at first, having a fat device in your mouth makes it difficult to eat and even speak properly.

These “TRUTHNUKE” posts are always so funny. Are people really sitting behind a screen like, “I’m crushing their dreams!!!”?

If your maxilla isn’t 5 mm wider than your lower jaw, you may experience TMJ, sleep issues, or breathing problems. In that case, you may be a candidate for expansion. Unless you already have an ideal airway, you should consider getting evaluated for these

Lmao I'm trying to help clueless ones and save them from embarassment.

Did you even read the thread? I'm talking about users who think they'll get a palate expander by lying to their orthodontist because they want to 'ascend'.

Yeah the orthodontist just wouldn't help them if there's no need for it by their form of thinking. The only option is a surgical procedure after they've turned 18.

Yeah, I just wanted to offer some extra information.

For anyone reading this, get a CBCT scan to see if you need expansion. Using intermolar width isn’t a good measurement. Based on that, I’d guess a lot of people may need expansion.

That's why I tell people to get lefort when they have a flat maxilla, seems like the only viable solution to fix a narrow/recessed maxilla.
