2026 is around the corner, what are you gonna do?
These past few days have felt like filler episodes, or a waiting room before the next year.
Celebrating the New Year has always been different for me, never really had any traditions. Throughout my life I've spent it in many ways, some better than others. There were years where I just sat inside doing nothing, during some sad or stressful times. Other years I usually just went out to restaurants with freinds, traveling, having some huge parties or simply spending it quietly with my girlfriend, literally just sitting on a hill and watching the fireworks while eating some sandwiches.
Choosing what to do has always been a bit awkward.
I usually just go with the flow. If I get invited somewhere I'll end up going, otherwise I'll just stay in and reflect on the year. I like to prepare for the upcoming year by organising myself both virtually and in real life by cleaning, planning some good habits and a few simple but specific goals.
This time around it will be pretty chill for me. We're going to a cabin with my girlfriend, my brother and his girlfriend and two of our friends. Nothing crazy, just some good food, our own fireworks (we got some good ones), board games, music and relaxing together. I don't really ever drink alcohol. I think that's more than enough for now.
At this point, I believe it's more about who you're with rather than how you celebrate it. That can mean family, old or new friends, a fresh stacy
or even by yourself, just getting some space to breathe and reset for another year of happiness or pain. I don't care that much about it being a new year, but I like to use it as a time to freshen up.
So... what about you?
Are you gonna spend some quality time with some friends and family, or let your flesh rot on your chair?
Maybe go to the club and fail miserably like @Orka , or get wasted like @BigBallsLarry ?
What are some things you'd like to take with you from 2025 into 2026?
Whoever you are, Happy New Year!
Wishing you the best in the upcoming year.
