Nicotine is probably one of the most misunderstood compounds when it comes to performance/health

People hear “nicotine” and instantly think cigarettes, cancer, degeneracy, etc. But the main point is that nicotine itself and smoking are not the same conversation.

Why is it addicting even after you stop getting the “head rush”? Whether you feel like it has no other effects or not, it does

- increased focus
- better task engagement
- appetite suppression
- faster reaction time
- higher alertness
- dopamine release

The interesting part is nicotine seems to work on a bell-curve for cognition. Studies have shown too little nicotine or too much nicotine doesn’t improve cognition.

So there’s a sweet spot where focus, attention, and cognitive performance improve the most. Although some studies show chronic use can still improve cognition, I’d try staying in the middle for health maxxing.

So what’s the optimal dose and way to get nicotine?
1-4mg in pouches preferably.

Meanwhile society normalized abusing caffeine daily, nicotine became untouchable because everyone associates it with smoking instead of separating the molecule from the delivery system.

Health?

Nicotine is so neuroprotective that even smokers have massively reduced rates of Brain disease, Parkinson’s disease, Dementia, Alzheimers. However smoking increases chance of lung cancer so switching or starting on pouches avoids that entirely.

Conclusion for DNRs
Nicotine = Good.
Smoking = Bad.
1-4mg = Good.
Too Little or Too Much = Bad.
