I don't know anything about basketball but doesn't the US don't give a fuck about the international games? i mean, why would the best players out there would risk an injure when the NBA is all that really matters from my understanding, it's not like the world cup with soccer.

Nah, US cares. After they got beat in 04 Olympics and 02 and 06 world basketball championships they sent all their best players: Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Melo, etc. On this team they have Durant and Damian Liliard who are two of the best players in the NBA. Team is loaded. Best roster easily.
