Testosterone peaks a lot at day 7 and then returns back to baseline
The reason testosterone drops it’s because it binds to the androgen receptors when you hit day 8

The two week study shows that for all of the subjects testosterone spikes on day 7 (or day 6 for one subject), and if they coomed after that their testosterone would spike again after 7 days, otherwise it would return to their baseline and stay at their baseline.

But one limitation of the study (for obvious funding reasons) is that it was only 16 days. Another limitation is that nofap may have more effects than just testosterone levels, such as motivation levels.

Noejaculation is very big in bodybuilding, MMA, boxing, and other sports and the effects of extra intensity in the gym take a long time to cumulate to something substantial. Being able to build extra muscle mass will also raise your testosterone in the long run, and that won't only be for a two day spike every 7 days.

This is only a theory but I suspect the 7 day thing to be our biological clock telling us that if we have a mate that we are smashing, then to keep smashing them while they're around, especially if it's been 7 days.

But if our body think's it's not getting any mates what so ever, then it "should" devote more resources towards the long term goal of getting a mate, which I think is why on nofap you have more motivation to go to the gym but I suspect there are other biological strategies that get triggered when your body believes it's not getting any mates and needs to change, consume more resources (food), and take more biological risks/tradeoffs.

All this is to say that I don't think nofap is a magic pill, or essential to get laid, or going to ascend a you if you're not good looking but I do think it's a small edge.
