Most people aren't stormfront tier racist and will insult you for a specific thing related to your own race rather than for generically being "non-white."

Irl I've gotten mockingly called "ahmet" by drunk germans and "sandnigger" in Texas. Some guy tried to imply I must be an incel because I'm Indian once in NYC. Some polish janitor in a airport started speaking loudly in broken english that the restroom is "so dirty" when I was washing my hands in it.

Those are the only ones which I faced racism which wasn't like hidden. Tbh in general in the US the consequences of open racism are really high (you'll get fired from your job lmao) so racist people have to be much more covert about it. You're much more likely to just encounter people who will literally avoid you as much as possible but remain outwardly polite. That is extremely extremely common in the US.

Europe is a little different. People are often more openly racist there (no consequences to racism), but they're also afraid of you in a way whites in the US are not. The only group of people white people in the US are afraid of is blacks. Indians, Arabs, Hispanics, Asians are not viewed as threatening by whites and Indians and especially Asians are viewed as like docile and won't throw back.

In Europe though I've had people legit be very scared of me which was a really funny experience. I honestly prefer the open and scared of you kind of racism in Europe to the covert and detest you type of racism that's present in the US.
