Recently I was waiting on a train and I saw a guy, maybe 25yo. He tried the comb over but it was beyond salvageable for him. Tbh I felt really bad for the guy. Then I wonder, do people not know about the wonders of Dutasteride? Surely they must have looked for solutions, but maybe they just accepted their fate ig

Hair transplant follicles to be destroyed by DHT anyway.. or the hair follicles behind the HT miniaturizing away.. so you end up with a botched looking HT.. no man, that's a terrible idea. Prevention is much better than coping with a HT and typically going bald anyway. HT is to recover lost ground to make up for the mistake of not having gone on fin/dut earlier.

I take dutasteride and I love waking up every morning and seeing my beautiful now minimal NW and enjoying how nice my hair and hairline are now knowing it will look like this the next few coming decades. Mogs

Hell yeah dude.. you can sometimes even regrow some of the lost hair on fin/dut. My minimal NW is slowly becoming non-existant on dut even after 2 1/2+ years treatment, still getting in new fresh regrowth so my NW 1.25 will be like NW 1.1 in a year or two lol.. ahhh, feels so good.

DHT is basically poison to your hair follicles, skin and prostate as an adult.

Honestly some Norwood can loook good and age-appropriate on men middle age and above but ideally it is no more than like NW 1.25-1.5 maybe up to 1.75, just slight temple recession. Center hairline being low and intact is the most important thing though by far, once/if that recedes then you definitely start looking a lot older and losing a lot of appeal.

But hell even NW2 in middle age beats bald by a million miles. Lol, even a stable full NW3 at 40+ looks 1000x better than bald. Even buzz cut/shaved head and no Norwood looks 1000x better than slick bald. Sad but true for bald guys.

The follicles that are being transplated come from the Back of your head and are resistant to DHT so DHT wont harm them at all


When the hairloss is strong you should Take fin or dut


However lets assume you are 45 and stable nw2 for 10 years without any loss on the top of your head and Just recessed temples, in that Case you can indeed do a HT without getting on DHT blockers

Even then those old guys may realize they have been affected by DHT all along it just took going into their 50s+ to notice the thinning etc. Never a bad idea to be on fin/dut if you care about your hair. Some guys literally don't start noticing balding from DHT until they are 50-60~ etc.

And ye follicles at back are more DHT resistant but sometimes they aren't as DHT resistant as they may think, new scalp tissue area might produce just enough extra DHT to affect them too when old area didn't. Seen plenty of examples of guys transplanted follicles miniaturizing too.. then not going on fin/dut was a terrible idea for them in hindsight.

Feels like anything but fin/dut is kind of very high risk and coping regardless, in many cases they just buy time before hair thinning returns or they bald behind the HT etc..
