Normality of chasing girls who are considered ugly but have features you dont

I absolutely adore and crush on this girl in a class of mine however alot of my pears point out how she isn't really attractive, which when looking closer is true however I still hold the feelings towards her. On further notice though her only good features are ones I don't have, ie chin projection wide palate and good infraorbitals. Which makes me think I only like her because subconsciously she has what I don't, does anyone else experience this?
