It's a huge part of the reason normies are so stupid. Without good reading comprehension it's not possible to understand the meaning of anything your read, and thus not possible to see through the lies you are told.
Ex:
"John loved picking apples since he loved the taste of fresh apples, but he hated the taste of warm baked ones. So every day after he had finished picking apples, he would take them and turn them into an apple pie".
If you noticed the contradiction in the above quote, then congratulations you aren't a retard. But in case you are I will point out the contradiction in the above example: He claims to love the taste of fresh apples but hates the taste of baked ones, yet he then claims to turn his apples into pies (which makes the apples warm/baked) anyway.
A person with decent reading comprehension will notice this contradiction in logic. A person with bad reading comprehension won't. Think of all the times where normies will listen to and accept completely contradictory bullshit that is spoonfed to them by the media/government/corporations etc without noticing any of the blatant paradoxes in what they are being told. Think of all the times you attempt to explain some concept to a normie that you assumed would be simple enough to understand even for them except it fails horribly and they still don't understand shit.
IT'S BECAUSE NORMIES HAVE GARBAGE READING COMPREHENSION. They don't actually understand anything they read. They just memorize it. That is how most of them pass tests. Even for the higher IQ normies this is often true since in practice a high IQ often just means superior memory rather than superior intelligence.
Once you realize this normie behavior becomes a lot more understandable.
