I used to think that kids from divorced parents must've also had parents who were abusive to them due to the stress and conflict involved. And that I would have similarities, things in common with them. Similar pains and trauma.

Then I came to realize that it was just me living this dog-shit life and I became increasingly and rapidly estranged from my peers over the next years as people had their normal development while I was stuck in survival mode having to deal with all this crap.
