I thought about how it would be to work in an animal shelter. How you would have to take care of the cats and dogs. How you would have to clean their litterbox, shower them, go out with them and give them treats. And then i thought about how unintentionally ungrateful animals are. I mean think about it. Let’s say you are new. They won’t allow you to go out with their pets. You might steal them or do whatever with them. You are also not giving them treats, the people who are long time workers will do that while on walks.

So basically you are left doing all the hard work, cleaning their shit, forcing them to eat meds, showering them. You know for yourself you are doing a lot for those animals. But guess what. Those animals don’t care. They are simple creatures. To them you force them under water they don’t like and cleaning the litterbox is smth they don’t even notice.
Meanwhile the ones that are on a walk or give them treats are the ones they will like. They aren’t even doing work. They are just enjoying themselves while you are there cleaning shit lol.

Humans aren’t different than dogs or cats. They can’t be grateful for things they don’t know or things they can’t appreciate due to lack of understanding. So if you want to be liked, don’t do the things that have to be done. Just do the fun part and let others do the hard work and be actually helpful with no reward. Only do things that will be emotionally beneficial to you.

just a small shower thought ngl

Maybe because they're fucking animals who aren't supposed to be in cages drinking poisoned water and unnatural food?

You think they want to be there? If they were able to escape they would leave to go to their natural habitat and never come back

You're calling animals ungrateful for something they don't even like
A shelter was the example I thought about. The same scenario applys for a happy dog with a good owner as well. Where it happens is not the point. The point is to stop doing nice things for people if they can’t appreciate the result, when you can get a bigger emotional reward for doing stuff that requires 0 effort.

it’s only about the perceived result and not the effort is what I’m saying

when you said small analogy i expected a couple sentences, not a fuken essay

Changed the title. I don’t wanna be one of those mainstream media channels abusing titles to spread their message and manipulate the masses

Ofc they can. But they are grateful for the result. Not the effort.
I prefer results as well. A lot of time effort can be more trouble than it's worth.
