It‘s not that I don‘t have empathy. But I noticed that, especially as a child, I would react/feel different than others and not be nearly as empathetic.

I can read and feel emotions normally though and kind of developed much more empathy over the two decades I have lived.

not tryna diagnose you or anything, most likely you never had it, but people develop different emotional capacities over time

not tryna diagnose you or anything, most likely you never had it, but people develop different emotional capacities over time
An entire lack of empathy and ability to read other's emotions is very rare though, usually that ability is just small.

Empathy is feeling what other people feel. Reading emotions is a learned conscious skill whereas empathy is an innate thing.
