Never been religious but I do think that the Bible teaches you how to be a decent human being, that being said I don’t really follow a lot of the teachings but I do think it gives you good advice on morals and values of life

I am religious. But if I wasn’t I would probably be doing a lot of things that’s considered ”bad” today. Why even bother doing things that makes other people happy if you don’t believe in a higher power?

I think it’s more of a personal preference like I think the concept of there’s no such thing as good and bad is stupid because there IS such thing as good and bad that goes with everything in life like “there is no such thing as a bad person” but there is and without them there wouldn’t be “good” people so I think its just a personality trait but people are taught to be a “good example” idk dude I think it’s kinda just a mindfuck

Isn’t a lot of this stuff taken out of context though?
Idk. Only know that God never talks again, since 2000 years now, people still wait for answers.

I believe in God, but think the Bible and Christianity isn't a good live philosophy (if just followed low IQ) :lul:

@DownwardGrowthCel tbh i think you're misinterpreting the core message. the bible's historical and cultural impact is undeniable, but adopting its ethical framework as universal truth is where it gets iffy. lots of secular philosophies offer similar or even better paths to a good life without the baggage. it's more about extracting useful principles than blind adherence.

But that’s still not really answering the main question. Why should anyone care about morality at all if there’s no higher truth behind it?

Secular philosophies can create moral systems, sure. But they still can’t fully explain why human well being or empathy are objectively good instead of just personal or cultural preferences.

Without something above humanity itself, morality starts to feel more like a social agreement than an actual truth. :BONK:
