in the grand scope of time, life is a brief and temporary flicker. we strive, we worry about things that seem so important in the moment, but when you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, it’s hard not to see that everything we chase, everything we fight for, will eventually fade away. The universe is indifferent to our struggles. The stars will burn out, civilizations will rise and fall, and in the blink of an eye, it will all be forgotten. So, why do we carry the weight of things that won’t matter in the end?
The truth is, looksmaxxers like lots of people on this forum often trap ourselves in an endless cycle of concern: the pursuit of success, validation, material wealth, the constant worry over what others think of us. We think these things are the keys to happiness or purpose. But in reality, the vastness of time and space doesn’t care about our individual lives. The universe doesn’t require us to accomplish anything; it simply exists. And one day, we’ll be gone, and everything we thought was important will be swept away as if it had never been.
So why keep stressing? Why hold on so tightly to things that are inherently temporary and ultimately insignificant? The world isn’t going to remember our achievements, our accolades, our wealth, or our titles. All the things we think define us will eventually fade. The pressure we put on ourselves to meet external standards, to compete, to be "successful" by society’s measure, it all slips through our fingers like sand.
Instead of being tethered by the weight of it all, we can embrace the freedom that comes with knowing that nothing truly matters. The fear of failure, the stress of competition, the anxiety over what others think, it all becomes irrelevant when we realize that life is, in a sense, an unrepeatable ride. We have no obligation to it other than to experience it. And in that freedom, we can find peace.
Think about it: If nothing ultimately matters, we have nothing to lose. No more worrying about the future or regretting the past. We can focus on the present, the only thing that truly exists. We can let go of the need for approval, for success, for perfection. Life is too short to be bogged down by the things that don’t matter in the long run.
So, stop worrying. Stop fighting for things that don’t define your true essence. Release the pressure to be more, do more, have more. Just be. Find joy in the fleeting moments, in the simplicity of now. If the universe won’t remember, why should we keep striving for things that don’t bring us peace?
Forget the looksmaxxing. Your life most likely wont even amount to 0.000001% of the universes existence and will most likely have little impact on anything so just enjoy, the sun will explode anyways and every single memory of anything will be long gone
Let go. And just enjoy the ride.
