When I was 16-20 I was always a social outcast, I always tried socializing but was always made fun of and just an easy target. At 21 I looksmaxxed super hard and ascended and notice people were way nicer to me and more respectful. I finally started making friends effortlessly and had tons of different groups to become part of. Each one was super different personality wise but I am able to fit in easily. Nothing about my personality ever changed tbh just my looks.

So in my case, priorizing looks def helped me become more NT because the threshold for being accepted and treated nicer due to good looks was lower

Nonetheless, I believe NT is law. consistently my friends notice I get IOIs a ton when we’re out but I never recognize them in the moment or know how to act on it in a confident manner where as they easily go up and talk to girls. This I case where my being non nt cucks me.

Yeah, there's a big relationship between looks and how your personality is perceived for sure. Halo effect is real, but it doesn't account for everything. Some people are just socially weird. Maybe they're socially anxious or they just freeze up in conversations and don't know what to say (I'm both of these) and that's inevitably going to affect your ability to get in relationships with women. That's why I say NT is super important. If you're not chad and you're non-NT, it's going to be rough.

Early twenties and yes, in NT circles I always felt like the guy that they would keep around out of pity basically. I wasn't really treated rudely like you said you were, but I was conscious that I would be the last one they would choose to hang out with if they had to choose. I'm not annoying, just boring. Kind of like a brick wall. I don't say much and get the "why are you so quiet?" question quite a bit. I tried to force myself to be extroverted at some point, but it always came off as forced. There were people in these group I mogged, so it can't be explained by just being a looks problem.
