Ive been gymcelling for 6-7 years now and slowly when it becomes so routine, you start to get complacent and lazy.

If there was one thing i could say, id say make sure you are using lighter weights than you think and focus on controlling the weight slowly/gradually.

I know this is genuinely water, but its so much more important than you realise for so many reasons. Time under tension increases, your able to have better mind-muscle connection, less risk of injury, easier to be diciplined and more enjoyable because most of the set is easy except the last few reps when you are near failure.

I was ego lifting for so long without even realising. I just thought i was doing high intensity because it was straining my muscles from the first rep, but no. I was just subtly cheating.

Your muscles do not see the number of weight, they do not see the amount of reps, they only feel tension.

damn i was doing high intensity low sets, but this might have changed my mind, more sets, lower rest and lightewr weights might be the play, mirin

Not more sets. But more reps. Depending on how many reps you were doing. I was doing 6 reps for strength training, now im doing much slower and lighter 8-12 rep range. As for sets 2-3 is ideal. More sets are allowed on compound movements rather than isolation movements. Also 4-5 exercises in a workout is optimal for roi.

Basically i had to change my mindset on what intensity actually was. Intensity still means you need to be controlled with the weight the entire movement
