Had a doctor checkup today. Pre-checkup, they took my stats and I realized they were taking me to the scale for height measurement (I had a makeshift paper towel lifts that gave 1.5 inches in my shoes).
I immediately pretended to have a cramp and needed to go to the bathroom. The nurse was like "what happened? let's get your measurements first, you can go to the bathroom later". I insisted it was an emergency but she said it would take 30 seconds.
I reluctantly took off my shoes and used my hands to cover the paper stuffed inside my shoes, but she was staring at my shoes and was like "is everything ok? what's that in your shoes". I managed to change the topic and stepped on the scale for my weight and height... felt extremely embarressed.
Next time I'll stuff the paper under the sole of the shoes so it's hidden.
