Day in the Life — Daddy’s-Money NYC Girl (Morgan Stanley Exec’s Daughter Edition)

7:42 AM
— Wakes up in her West Village “starter” $7,200/mo one-bedroom Daddy pays for. Pretends she’s groggy but immediately scrolls TikTok + Instagram Reels for “morning inspiration” from other nepotism babies. Opens Notes app to write down “content ideas” she’ll never execute.

8:15 AM — Makes an iced matcha latte using $19 ceremonial-grade powder from Cha Cha Matcha, posts it on Stories with the caption “slow mornings <3”.

9:00 AM — “Work.” Which means opening her laptop to a Morgan Stanley “special projects” role Daddy “hooked her up with” that doesn’t require deliverables. She logs into Slack, sends a “Good morning, team!” message, then immediately closes her laptop.

9:12 AM — Orders Sweetgreen “Harvest Bowl, extra avo” on the app. $24. Daddy pays.

10:00 AM — Pilates in SoHo. $48 per class. Wears $320 Alo set “for the vibes.” Records the reformer workout to upload a 15-second Story with the caption “movement = therapy”.

11:30 AM — Sits at Ralph’s Coffee with other daughters of managing directors, all complaining about “the pressure to hustle” while gossiping about who’s dating a junior banker. Pretends to read The Creative Act by Rick Rubin because it looks aesthetic on the marble table.

12:45 PM — “Lunch meeting” at Carbone with a brand consultant friend. In reality, they share rigatoni and plot a podcast called “Authenticity is Currency”. Daddy will bankroll it.

2:30 PM — Opens laptop again. Scrolls one Google Sheet. Adds one cell highlight so if Daddy asks, she can say “been buried in numbers today.”

3:15 PM — SoulCycle. Talks loudly about “getting aligned spiritually”. Posts another Story: sweaty mirror selfie captioned “we moveee”.

4:00 PM — Trader Joe’s “haul” for TikTok: organic eucalyptus, oat milk, dried mango, and a candle. She’ll never cook any of it.

5:15 PM — Quick FaceTime with Daddy:

“Babe, I transferred another $3,000. Also, we’re shorting Tesla; stop tweeting about Elon.”

6:00 PM — Golden hour rooftop drinks at Le Bain. Takes 43 photos, posts one, deletes it, reposts with new filter.

7:30 PM — Dinner at Catch. Orders the $29 sushi roll and $22 cocktail. Says she “doesn’t really do carbs” but eats everyone else’s fries.

9:00 PM — Someone mentions an “art gallery opening” in Tribeca. Goes just for the Instagram backdrop. Meets three tech bros, ignores them until one mentions Series B funding. Suddenly very engaged.

11:45 PM — Back home. Lights Diptyque candle. Puts on a $280 Skims set. Journals:

“Grateful for abundance, alignment, and Daddy’s love.”

12:15 AM — Netflix open, but really scrolling TikTok deep dives: Hamptons house tours, “quiet luxury,” and soft-launching her situationship.

1:30 AM — Falls asleep face-down on silk pillowcase, drunk-texts “U up?” to the same banker she swore she’d block.

Day in the Life — Daddy’s-Money NYC Girl (Unfiltered, Existential Dread Edition)

7:06 AM
— Wakes up hungover in her $7,200 West Village apartment that she didn’t technically choose — Daddy’s assistant did. For a few seconds, she forgets where she is, then remembers she’s 27 and has accomplished nothing independently. Immediately grabs phone, checks Instagram, sees a sorority friend just got engaged to a Goldman VP in the Hamptons. First micro-panic attack of the day.

7:18 AM — Opens TikTok to self-soothe. Watches “clean girl” routines while eating two stale Sour Patch Kids from the nightstand. Saves 14 skincare videos she’ll never follow.

8:00 AM — Performs “self-care”: ice roller, Dr. Dennis Gross peel, $160 Augustinus Bader moisturizer. Stares into mirror practicing soft smiles she saw on TikTok to “look less try-hard.”

8:35 AM — Logs into her fake Morgan Stanley “strategic initiatives” job Daddy invented to make her LinkedIn look respectable. Her manager sends a Slack ping: “Hey, can you update that deck?” She freezes, panics, and opens Canva to Google what a “deck” actually is.

8:42 AM — Gives up. Marks herself “active” on Slack and closes the laptop.

9:30 AM — Rebalances mood by booking a $56 hot pilates class at Solidcore. Posts “healing my inner child” on Story.

10:45 AM — Brunch at Sadelle’s with two other nepotism-adjacent friends. They spend 90% of it whispering about a girl from Dalton who just married a crypto founder with a $14M penthouse. Feigns excitement but internally feels a quiet, acidic envy gnawing at her.

12:12 PM — Realizes she has no actual passions. Opens Notes app and writes:

“Potential career pivots:
– Jewelry brand
– Wellness influencer
– Podcast? (Name ideas: ‘Daddy Issues’, ‘Trust Fund Baby Energy’)
– Real estate license? (Ew)”
Closes Notes. Does nothing.

1:15 PM — Wanders into Reformation “just to look.” Spends $682 on two linen tops because the girl at checkout called her “gorgeous.”

2:30 PM — Goes to Cha Cha Matcha for matcha + a staged photo with her MacBook open so it “looks like she’s working.” Thinks about starting a Substack but worries “long-form is dead.”

3:10 PM — FaceTimes Daddy. He’s in a Morgan Stanley boardroom somewhere, visibly irritated, whispering:

“Sweetheart, I’m in the middle of a call. What do you need?”
She fake-pouts:
“Rent’s due.”
He sighs, wires $7,200, says he loves her but sounds tired. Deep down, she knows he’s wondering when she’ll stand on her own.

4:00 PM — Spends 40 minutes editing one Instagram Story from her Pilates class because she doesn’t want to “look like she tries too hard” while simultaneously needing validation from 800 acquaintances.

5:15 PM — Drinks on a rooftop with a guy from Bumble who works at Blackstone. Laughs extra hard at his jokes. Mentally calculates his bonus potential. Wonders if she actually likes him or just likes his Tribeca duplex.

6:45 PM — Dinner at Carbone. Pretends she’s not hungry and says “just a salad” but eats half the spicy rigatoni. Waits for someone else to post a photo so she can repost without looking thirsty.

8:30 PM — Heads to a “private gallery opening” in Tribeca. Smiles vaguely at strangers while thinking about how everyone’s pretending they’re happier than they are. Posts boomerangs of champagne glasses clinking; writes ✨ abundance ✨.

11:05 PM — Lying in bed, scrolling endlessly. Watches a girl from her college internship go viral with a “startup founder turned VC” success story. Feels a cold, metallic panic in her stomach. Wonders if she’s already irrelevant.

12:42 AM — Opens Hinge, rejects six guys, matches with one banker, stalks his LinkedIn, calculates his total comp package, wonders if that could “solve things.”

1:15 AM — Cries silently, face buried in $300 silk pillowcase, whispering to herself:

“I’m gonna start something… like soon.”
Doesn’t.

2:07 AM — Asleep with Netflix autoplaying Emily in Paris on loop. Dreams she’s famous, adored, and self-made. Wakes up tomorrow, unchanged.
