An obese Ohio woman with five lovers allegedly 'ordered' them to abduct and torture another man as revenge in a shocking kidnapping case.
Martina Jones, 28, her husband Michael Esqueda, 28, and boyfriends Aaron Bradshaw, 49; Austin Bradshaw, 23; David Cessna, 26; and Chance Johnston, 27 are facing multiple serious charges over the kidnapping.
Jones is said to be in a polygamous relationship and shared multiple children with the group of men, according to the Kansas Star.
Police said the 26-year-old victim was kidnapped on March 14 and held against his will for over a week at a Red Roof Inn in Maumee, Ohio - about 115 miles west of Cleveland.
He was brutally beaten with a baseball bat, forced to stand for extended periods, and given food and water just once daily, according to police.
Investigators say the captive was shockingly only allowed about 10 hours of sleep during the entire seven-day nightmare.
'He was being essentially tortured, assaulted, over the time frame of a week,' said Maumee Chief of Police Josh Sprow.
'His injuries were results of being struck with a baseball bat, struck with fists, elbows, stomping on him when he was on the ground, which over time resulted in multiple fractured bones.'
Jones was allegedly the mastermind behind the entire operation, giving direct orders to her boyfriends to beat and assault the victim, according to police.
The victim told police that the horrific ordeal began after a dog fight broke out at Jones' home.
When he and Jones attempted to break up the brawl, she suffered a broken arm in the chaos.
Instead of explaining what truly happened, Jones allegedly falsely blamed the victim of breaking her arm, according to police reports.
This lie allegedly what sparked her lovers' brutal revenge.
The victim was rescued only when his captors allowed him a brief trip to a nearby Speedway convenience store on March 21, as reported by FOX8.
During the moment of freedom, he managed to make contact with someone who then alerted his mother.
'When he was there, he made contact with an individual, who got in contact with the victim's mother,' Sprow explained.
His mother immediately rushed to the Red Roof Inn to rescue her son, and police were called to the scene.
Officers obtained warrants, placed the hotel under surveillance, and later arrested all six suspects before they could flee the area.
The victim was rushed to hospital with injuries covering his entire body, though he is expected to survive.
During the investigation, police discovered that Jones reportedly maintained romantic relationships with all five of her male accomplices and has multiple children with them.
'It's clearly a strange situation when you have multiple adult men involved in a relationship with a female, and then this whole felonious assault/kidnapping taking place. Definitely not something that is normally happening in our city,' Sprow said.
The six suspects faced a judge on Monday in Toledo. Each had their bond set at a hefty $200,000.
By Thursday, all six were indicted by a grand jury on one count of kidnapping, three counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence.
