Based on internet discourse. Each country has its own reason. Sometimes it's their behaviour, politics, history, religion, etc. Usually shit throwing by their people towards others (literal shit throwing in the case of Indians).

I was thinking about Pakistan. I'm not sure it's universal btw. Like the hate for Pakistan SPECIFICALLY is from India and maybe the UK because of the low IQ diaspora. But rest of the world would rather hate India than Pakistan. If they hate Pakistan because they're Muslim they usually have a problem with other Muslim countries too hence not Pakistan in particular.

As far as I'm aware Indians dont mind being mistaken for paki (even if they hate Pakistan) - I guess it's tacit acknowledgement they get mogged. But a paki would be insulted they are called Indian.

Anyway rest of the world are going to group them two together even if they know their differences.
