when you focus your awareness on a pleasurable experience, physical or even more mental it tends to go away
when you focus your awareness on something like physical pain it doesnt go away

pleasure is an illusion (someone would say weak as sin compared to pain)
pain is real

I just had a dream about something like this. It was about you have to be in the zone and chit to experience joy. Even crime feels exciting and gratifying because you're so much in the moment.

when i seemingly 'felt good'
i used to have the self harming tendency to observe what that is
ask myself what am i exactly feeling right now
and i always realised that i was actually feeling nothing

when you observe pleasure, more in a mental level not sensory, it goes away
but even in the sensory it does. its weak

that's why you play it safe and stay down. stay close to the source of the pain, when you try to ignore it it only makes it worse. you can't vanquish demons, if you try they just multiply. so befriend them

I can't relate. When I take drugs or bust a nut I almost invariably feel good, whether I think about it or not.

i used to feel a bit good when orgasming

mental pleasures like pride, satisfaction etc are the easiest to disolve with observation

at the moment sure but there's always a pendulum that swings back later and bangs you in the ass for just about anything that is short term dopamine

Okay that's interesting.

Maybe it's that mental pains and pleasures are both more imaginative and perhaps subjective. That's why talking, writing or thinking about your problems can help you feel better because you see things in a different light.

ofc mental states are more subjective than sensory pleasures
still the emotional distress from losing someone you love, becoming crippled from an accident doesnt go away with observation. you still know you feel awful

but after achievement if u got the guts to engage in self awareness, you always think stuff like "is that all?" , "what is next?"
people are afraid to question that their 'positive feelings' might be an illusion
people having to practise stuff like gratitude shows you what it is
i doubt people can even feel more than short lived gratitude and thats after special events
most people say they feel gratitude/good in desperate hope that they actually summon it /feel it

i know people in this forum that say they feel good but id bet their experience is just shit or boring/neutral at best and theyre coping

pain/suffering might be temporary, like everything , but last the remaining of your life

pain suffering is so much more intense than pleasure, you might aswell call pleasure an illusion

Sounds like you need to stop thinking about it.

Shut it down! :feelsree:
