OCD is just intrusive thoughts that pop in your head, u feel a necessity to perform a compulsion to get rid of the anxiety the thought produces, what you described can very well be applied to many ocd cases but it doesn't cover all of them.

People with OCD on brain scans have overactivity in areas associated with impulse control and decision making. Basically the impulse control centers of the brain are working too hard. Intrusive thoughts are your brain trying to warn you of the worst case scenario so you try to avoid it.

I've had OCD since 11 and when I was 18 my obsessions revolved around height, I wanted to grow tallER and was doing many things to try to grow but since I had OCD I would spend some time quite often having to perform compulsions whenever the theme of height popped in my head otherwise "I wouldn't grow taller", most of the compulsions were me saying "I will grow taller for real soon" over and over during many minutes many times a day, I did not end up growing shit until I did this which some would say required low inhibition as I was needle phobic yet I was injecting 3 times a day and risked having unwanted growth in my body https://looksmax.org/threads/injecting-hgh-at-23-for-any-possible-growth.594831/
