The Islam you are referring to is not really possible in the modern world, it was back then but not in current year. The issue with indian muslims is not of religion but one of them integrating and even prioritizing culture over religion which Pakistanis and Arabs also do these days.
We both know what women are like these days, if you don't "control" them or restrict them in some way, they'll turn into sluts just like white girls, as a man you have to somewhat not only educate but also oversee what your daughter is doing so she doesn't get misled and goes down the wrong path.
How many "muslim" girls have turned into sluts because they don't have a father figure? too many.

Nobody said Islam meant that you have to lead a boring joyless life though, restrictive parents may stop their daughters from doing things but ultimately they do it for their benefit so they aren't going clubbing, drinking alcohol, going out dressed half naked, etc.

That's just the culture here in the UK, it doesn't really have much to do with religion with how men and women are dressing, men will wear traditional clothing and women will wear hijab/niqab like they are supposed to. These issues are more of a cultural issue than religion. Yes it's true culture often overtakes religion for south asians, arabs and other ethnics but like i said.. this is not just a south asian thing. Arabs are the same here in the UK. When it suits them they will cite religion and when it doesn't, they'll claim culture, that's just ethnics in general. I agree it's bad but what can you do? they are never going to change.
