RaW miLk!! RaW! miLK!!!!
"Milk is a superfood"-Haaland
All over tiktok and perhaps this forum people have been saying to drink raw milk (and raw honey, and raw meat, but I will go talk about it later), but the reason im making this post is because raw milk is probably the most plausible of all of these raw copes. You'd think that pasteurising and processing milk would remove its nutrients. Im not gonna say this isn't true, but its overexaggerated by everyone, particularly those who advocate for raw milk. Vitamin C, B9 and B1 are probably reduced by like 5-10% each, respectively, and whilst you might think "that's a huge drop", percentage-wise wise yes.
BUT IN TERMS OF ABSOLUTE AMOUNTS YOU'RE LOSING JACKSHIT
Per 100ml, milk itself only has like 1-2mg of vitamin c, 8-9micrograms of b9 and 0.04-0.05 of b1(See citation 1). For refrence thats like less than 2% of your ARV(basically how much of this vitamin you should be getting per day). So with raw milk you're getting maybe 2% of the vitamins you need for the day and pasteriused milk you get 1.8% of the vitamins. Who the fuck needs 0.2% extra vitamins? Just eat more fruits and vegetables, meat, or multivitamins if you really need to.
But oh, doesnt raw milk remove enzymes that will help u "digest" shit better???
YES IT DOES BUT IT DOESNT MATTER
pasteurisation will destroy some heat-labile enzymes, but these enzymes will have no effect on you anyways, why, because these milk enzymes are digested in your gut (remember, your stomach has acid in it ffs) and have no proven systemic activity in adults (2) Also, for people thinking the enzymes might help those with lactose intolerance, studies have shown that raw milk did not reduce breath-hydrogen AUC or GI symptoms vs pasteurised milk(3)
What about helping your height and growth???
AGAIN IT DOESNT HELP MORE THAN NORMAL MILK
To answer, this think of what we need to grow? Enough protein ( especially leucine), calcium, phosphorus, iodine, vitamin D status, these all raise endogenous IGF-1 signaling and bone accrual. But the quantities of these compounds ARE NOT AFFECTED BY PASTEURIZATION all of these nutrients are in both raw and pasteurised milk(4). Only things that could possibly be affected are the amino acids and the vitamin d, but both of these are not heat-labile. And milk has some igf-1 in it but no pasteurization doesn't do shit to it, and it isn't even absorbed anyways.
How about the "good" bacteria?? them microbes??
RAW MILK IS NOT NECESSARY FOR THIS
The LAB in raw milk can briefly increase gut LAB and SCFAs and maybe boost your immune system for a short while, and yes some studies did find that drinking raw milk can increase lactobacillus in ur gut.(5)
BUT YOU CAN JUST EAT YOGHURT JFL
Everyone know that you can get the gut benefits from just eating yoghurt or drinking kefir (i like kefir tbh). And actually the pathogens in raw milk may destroy your gut, you'll get damage to your mucus membranes, dysbiosis(high amounts of "bad" bcateria and low amounts of "good bacteria"), and increased sensitivty following infections. And also yoghurt can help decrease the lactose and improve the tolerance to it, raw milk doesn't do that (6)
How about children??
Many studies have been carried out to test affect of raw milk on children, ill just cite one by the WHO and they found that there was NO growth advantage and higher anemia risk for kids drinking milk or formula. (7) And even then, you're not a fucking child so it doesnt matter
OH BUT [XYZ] TOLD ME ITS GOOD FOR U!!!
Dont listen to ppl because they said it only cucks listen to shit on the internet cause someone they "trust" said it. Ethos is absolute bullshit jfl, read the studies. And you shouldnt read this threat and immediately think "raw milk is cope", you should go online and search up the actual literature on the matter, thats how we become informed and functioning members of society. Haaland may drink it but he is a 6 5 agarthan with stronger immune systems then all of you here so its fine for him. And he probably gets it from some ultra posh source which none of you guys have access to or can afford, and even if you could, your money is better spent on other things
AND THE FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN WHICH I'M SURE WE ALL KNOW
Jfl if theres one thing you take away from this thread is that raw milk is dangerous for u.
Lets just have chatgpt list the pathogens shall we:
"Pathogens: Campylobacter, STEC (E. coli O157), Salmonella, Listeria, Brucella, Cryptosporidium; risk markedly higher with raw milk"
And the modeled per-serving risk of illness (e.g they tracked consumption of raw milk vs pasterusized milk and recorded sicknesses for both), and this risk was 840×, UR LITERALLY 840X MORE LIKELY TO GET SICK IF U DRINK RAW MILK JFL
YES THE RISK IS STILL NOT THAT HIGH BUT WHATS THE POINT???THERES NO NUTRIENT ADVANTAGE AND NORMAL MILK U CAN GET ANYWHERE, WHY PAY EXTRA FOR RAW MILK THATS JUST COMPLETE COPE
