I love my parents deeply but it hurt me how they acted toward me in my childhood. I always craved to be understood and loved for who I am but it was always lacking. I was just something that one of my parents could take their anger and frustration out on, and pose with, while the other was distant toward me and seemed like they never really cared. Sometimes it feels like they only loved that they had a son, but never loved who I am. Now I can never feel like I’m good enough for anyone and I think the reason it’s so persistent is these experiences I had as my mind was forming.
