the shift from giving autistic decimal ratings like “4.195/8 PSL” to using tiers like “low htn” or “mid mtn” might be one of the only good recent changes in this sphere. its still cope, but at least the tier system is more aligned with how people actually judge looks in real life - broad impressions, not exact numbers. nobody cares if your pfl to ear lobe ratio is off by 0.7 mm lowering your PSL score from 4.87 to 4.82. people irl think youre either ugly mid or good looking. the tier labels are still subjective and vague, but they reflect actual human judgment better than some autistic scoring system pretending to be objective
