the corona situation may be a moral dilemma as much as it is a health crisis

the question we must answer is: is it okay to destroy the economy and the normal lives of millions of people in order to help those who are 80+ live an extra 6-12 months?

yes but at what cost?

let's say it's a choice between 0.3% of the population dying, mostly oldcels, or destroying the economy to an extent that takes 5-10 years to rebuild, in addition to increasing joblessness, homelessness, depression, suicides, heart disease, obesity, and other conditions by the millions

what is the moral thing to do then?

In spite of the overwhelming evidence that it is primarily very old people dying and being hospitalized, News media continues to up play everyone under 30 that gets the virus. And some people just refuse to believe the numbers, and make ridiculous claims that young people are dying of the virus, they are just not being documented. wtf

I am going to spend 3 hours outside today biking and walking around without my mask just to trigger people.

We are already past the morality issue. We gave these old fucks 6+ weeks to make accommodations to self quarantine, if they (or their family) have not made adequate accomodations to isolate then they deserve to die. It is somewhat counter intuitive, but the best hope the old people have of ever going out in public again is for everyone else to get the virus asap and develop herd immunity.

i think you may be right on all counts

plus oldcels only have to self-isolate for a few months until there is a vaccine or legit treatment. but shutting down the whole country for those few months is disastrous

are your rents still coming in? i heard there were rent strikes going on, which is not surprising considering most people live hand to mouth

and the stimulus is grossly inappropriate. they should have given people at least $2,400/month until quarantine is lifted

I have had no problems with rents. I have one vacant condo I wanted to sell, but I don't want to eat the likely 20% drop in the market value. PIA to re-rent under current market conditions, so many people out of work etc...

if that's your situation then you're doing very well. one vacant condo is built into your business model anyway, doesn't reduce your cash flow much

if you're serious about selling though you should sell before the second drop, meaning asap

don't think that 30 million and counting unemployed will have no effect on the market. millions of people will find themselves on grub street which will have an effect on inventory, meaning more properties competing for fewer high-income renters

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but plan for more vacancy and lower rents for an extended period and plan accordingly

just do 1,000 pushups a day at home
