You know stuff like celebrities, reality TV, music, movies, tv shows, etc...Back in my days I used to buy magazines and used them as a prop for conversations, showed the girls some pics with celebrities, models, or some articles about some stuff and talked about that, this was before people had smartphones and access to everything in their pocket...Fashion, makeup, lifestyle, trends, horoscopes, gadgets, etc. are also other popular subjects.
Nothing interests girl more however than gossip, if you have some juicy stuff about people they know, their eyes will immediately light up when you start talking about them:
-"OMG, did you know that professor is going now through a divorce?!!!"
-"OMG, no way!!!!"
-"Yeah, girl! I'm telling you I just saw the divorce papers on his desk when I visited his office...".
