The best way i can explain it is cuz of looks inflation what u wld see on the average face irl wld be facially rated high ltn in this community so ppl define that as average now js sum that i observed over the yrs but high mtn is def above average

Maybe i dont know but low would mean lesser than so if you were lesser than the middle wouldnt that be below the middle that would mean you are worse than the 50% percentile. even if you were in the 45% percentile thats still below average.

For me the looksscale doesn't reflect the population it reflects the looks level relative to other looklevels. So in one country the average person might be htn and in another ltn. Mtn isnt the average person it's the precise middle of the scale and isnt suppose to show what lookslevel the population is at

But there has to be some middle of beauty. there must be a threshhold to base everything on. i agree in some countries there are people who consider a person whos mtn in the states to be htn there however if they saw a ltn they would say "hmm hes probably uglier compared to the americans i see but i still think hes attractive" even though some people have biases theres always an underlying system to it.
