On 20 April 1945,
Hitler ordered Operation Seraglio to begin – the evacuation of key government personnel and files from embattled Berlin to Bavaria. One aircraft carrying a huge cache of the most secret and important of Hitler’s personal files crashed near Börnersdorf close to the Czech border.
Hitler had all other documents burned except the contents inside these 10 zinc boxes. He said they that they were ''extremely important documents that show posterity the truth of my actions''
Apparently nearby villagers who saw the plane crash retrieved the crates and later gave them to arriving SS troops(a few hours after the crash).
Other theories are that the soviets found the documents years later or that the villagers themselves had the documents hidden.
These documents might be the most valuable in the world if they still exist, thoughts?
