Opinion on SSRI Meds?

I'm aware a lot of you are highly against SSRI medication but I want to ask y. What could the Downsides be? I have recently started taking some prescribed SSRI meds and am not sure whether to continue taking them or just stop at once. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
