Opinion on what comes after death

Crazy woah

I understand your point I just want more context and thinking. Everything is real and isn't real at the same time
everything is real, if everything wasn't real there must be a reality, yin and yang
i dont really know about context and thinking im just spouting what i haven't said since nobody cares enough to know.

just another theory, you cant prove or disprove anything its retarded to say or think that we have the answer to these things were literally a grain of sand in a trillion oceans we truly know nothing about it

the basis of that is that there is always no matter what a possibility of something happening no matter how small that chance is. since time is infinite and we have no perception of time without conciousness then theoretically something MUST happen. but, this is just our 'theories'. nothing is conclusive and we will never ever have the answer, you just cant justify any explanation because its just impossible to say its like me saying im from a different planet you cant prove it and you cant know if im really saying the truth or a lie because its impossible for you to know that
Good take. I do agree. Helps both and hurts both of our points lol

we will never know until the day we die. what we can do is live the best lives we possibly can whilst we still have the chance because who the fuck knows whats waiting for us on the other side

obviously nothing is conclusive but it follows the typical laws of the universe, when there is evil there is good, where there is positivity there is equal negativity.
although it wouldn't be crude to assume the "laws" of the universe are another theory. its all about grasping an understanding we will never be able to comprehend

im a naturalist, so i think (from my perspective) its reasonable to assume that its the same process of what happens when someone is unconscious & from what i believe before we were born that same unconsciousness, that we will return to the unconsciousness, just more.... permanently

i get you. i just personally feel like were way too over our heads of what we think we know and the knowledge we think we can get. its just physically impossible for us to have any answers or knowledge about the universe except for like the most surface level shit

if were going off of our theories on earth, nothing is impossible, and since theoretically time is infinite, on a long enough time scale something is bound to happen right?

perhaps, i dont know, i dont think the classic idea of reincarnation is real, rather, when you die, you go back to the state you were before you were born, with the same chances & odds of being "assigned" or given consciousness, if you were to die, then sometime in the future "assigned" or given consciousness, you would hit the 1 in 10^2,685,000 chances of being alive again (as a human) but that number could be drastically lower because..

well, time is infinite, but that doesn't mean the window of consciousness is infinite, the universe can live on infinitely, but the window and opportunity could die out of consciousness to exist, so who knows, u might have a chance being born as a alien realistically

i agree, although i have a theory that everyone that could possibly have a conciousness will have it, so i think the odds are just bullshit. i dont feel like were special, because were somehow here, now, not 1 million years ago or in the future. something either must happen or the theory of probability is just some more bullshit cope that weve accepted as truth in this grain of sand

eh, thats a pretty ignorant thing to say tho, because you cant dismiss the odds without first defining what qualifies for consciousness in the first place, the odds arent about whether consciousness is rare or special, they are about the probability of a specific configuration of matter becoming you, with your particular experience, until you define what "everyone that could possibly have consciousness" means, you are not really changing how odds work, your just ignoring them

I’m just saying, what makes us/conscious beings so special? It’s not like we would have been living in nothing forever, so, either something definitely does happen which probably will be the case since something has definitely happened for us to be here now after the trillions of years (or longer since we still don’t have the answer to it) of the universe existing or the theory of probability is a lie and it will genuinely be nothing and the odds of us being lucky to be here now is true

You are nothing, your “consciousness is just what your body adapted/created to use logic and reasoning along with your senses to make decisions; when your body is dead so too is your mind, as it houses it

i feel like your just using the anthropic principle, but the thing is, something must happen after death because something clearly caused consciousness to emerge in the first place, so the universe has a track record of producing it, orrrrrrrr probability is real, we just got lucky, and death is genuinely nothing

my take is sure, the universe has a track record of producing consciousness, but thats consciousness in general, not your consciousness specifically, the universe producing stars doesnt mean the same star gets remade

Yeah that’s what I mean. One of the theories we have is wrong and one is right, but there’s no way of disproving one without actually dying, since we have no other possible way of proving it any other way. Plus with the theory of probability you have no way to prove or disprove that a star that once was can’t come back to life, it’s just an endless loop of conversation that’s all that theories are

yep, thats exactly what human thought is built on tho, we have always theorized about things we cant directly observe or prove, thats how we got quantum mechanics, the big bang, even evolution before we had the fossil record to confirm it, the fact that we cant prove what happens after death doesnt make the conversation pointless, it just makes it one of the most fundamentally human conversations there is, nothing better than sitting up at 2am with bro and theorizing about the dumbest shit ever

i agree, i don't know shit, we don't know anything about our surroundings. philosophy, religion, ideology are all ways of using what we can to paint a better portrait of ourselves and others

Yeah ofcourse I’m not saying it’s not, however if we look at things fully objectively and are really trying to look for some conclusive evidence we need to be realistic about the situation

there is no conclusive evidence for after death, scientifically speaking we just die and that's it. however other people have other beliefs and we will never be able to tell for certain.

Just wanted to hear what you guys think happens to your soul after death. Does it go somewhere. let me know

I'm pretty agnostic so I assume we just cease to exist. We wont experience it though just like we never experienced life before birth. I never understood why people are afraid of death though (besides religious people being condemned to eternal hell). I'm honestly more afraid of old age, losing all of your abilities and becoming a shell of yourself physically and mentally (Alzheimer's, dementia).

Nothing, absolutely nothing, like literally, what did you see before you were born?, nothing, what can you see if you see out of your penis ?, nothing.
