Brief context: male in my 20s, previously had DJS to correct severe maxillary hypoplasia (this was deemed medically necessary by my insurance and it was entirely covered.) My maxilla was moved downwards 10mm and both jaws were moved forward 3mm.

My chin was not touched during the original surgery, and I feel like it should have been addressed. Now, after months of dissatisfaction with my facial harmony and lack of a masculine / strong lower thirds, I am getting a genio, jaw implants, & buccal fat removal next week.

My surgeon’s plan is included. Please let me know your opinions on his plan, and if there are any discrepancies I should be addressing with him.

Planned movements: 6mm sliding forward, 4mm vertical lengthening with a bone graft + custom plates. Jaw implants are medpor.

My currently skeletal is also included (post-DJS). IMG 1335 Current IMG 1335

They weren’t messing around with the lefort plates…

Looks reasonable? Assume the BSSO plates aren’t in the way of the implants, no surgeon would overlook something THAT obvious, right?

can you post real pics of the past surgeries?
