Optimal bodyfat% for growth

What is the most optimal body fat% for growth during puberty/ teenage years? I am not sure if I should cut or not in order to lose facial fat/ reveal abs. I estimate I am around 17% bf at 16 6’1; want to lean down a bit but also want as much height growth as possible.

Haha stay high body fat for now but lift and try to put on muscle. You should have mentioned also what ur weight is. If you are asking this question it isn’t possible for you. If you try too hard to have abs and chit now you won’t grow taller. You could be 6’3 but ruined it since you were starved during teens. I made a similar mistake.

I’m currently 160 lbs, have been lifting semi consistently. I ate as much as I could 2 months ago to see how much I could gain, only gained about 2 lbs despite eating 1500 cals more per day. Last November I was 140 lbs, so I have put on 20 lbs of muscle + bone mass ( 5’10 then to 6’1.25 rn)
