What's considered the best range of caloric surplus to avoid facial fat gain, thus gaining weight, mass, and muscle, but without having the negative effects of aesthetic fat on the jaw, neck, cheeks, etc.?

(I know it depends on genetics, but I also believe there's an optimal value, so as not to overdo it.)

you gain fat all over your body not just in your face.
Bulk 100-300kcal surplus if you are under 12% bodyfat
Maintain if you are in 12-18% bodyfat and are comfortable with it
Lose weight if you are above 18% bodyfat

You don’t need to be in a calorie surplus to maximize muscle growth you can gain the same with being 300 calories in a deficit or a Surplus
