Optimal diet for teens during puberty

Title, heard from some that goyslop, more specifically sugar and glucose is needed for optimal development during the teens, obviously not over doing it, but at the same time I’m already slightly overweight and heard that eating Whole Foods is better for health and health = looks so idk, maybe a mixture of both? What do you guys suggest for me, I need to lose around 20-30 lbs to be mid at best.
