Oral or Topical Minoxidil

For the past year I’ve been applying topical minoxidil, and found it helped thicken some thin hairs and maintain what I had for a while, but isn’t solving the root cause (dht)

So I got prescribed tablets that are mixed of Finasteride 1mg/ Minoxidil 2.5mg

Do I have to apply topically if taken orally now, or is doing both even better?
